The Washington Commanders (4-11) host the Dallas Cowboys (6-8-1) on Christmas Day at Northwest Stadium. The Commanders are looking for revenge against the Cowboys, who beat them 44-22 back in Week 7.

Both the Commanders and Cowboys are eliminated from playoff contention. Dallas was still alive until last week. So, Thursday's game means little in terms of the standings, but as a rivalry, it remains important to the players and coaches. Washington enters Christmas Day having lost nine of its last 10 games, while Dallas is on a three-game losing streak.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels headlines the Commanders' Week 17 inactive list. Daniels was ruled out for the season last week, but was not placed on injured reserve so that he could practice. Joining Daniels on the inactive list is backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mariota suffered hand and quad injuries last week and was not cleared in time. Josh Johnson will start at quarterback, while newly signed Jeff Driskel will serve as the backup. The Commanders signed Sam Hartman to the 53-man roster, and he'll be the emergency third quarterback.

Also out for Washington are left tackle Laremy Tunsil, Daron Payne and Nick Bellore.

Here are the Commanders' Week 17 inactives:

  • QB Jayden Daniels
  • QB Marcus Mariota
  • T Laremy Tunsil
  • DT Daron Payne
  • LB Nick Bellore
  • QB Sam Hartman (emergency 3rd QB)
  • RB Chris Rodriguez Jr.

Rodriguez was a late addition due to illness.

Here are the inactives for the Cowboys.
