Chennai's iconic M.A. Chidambaram Stadium has hosted the most IPL finals. To date, five finals have been played, with the latest one being played in 2024, where KKR beat SRH to win their third IPL title.
Chepauk is followed by Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, who are all set to host the IPL final for a fourth time this season.
Among the other Indian venues that have hosted IPL finals multiple times are Kolkata's Eden Gardens, Navi Mumbai's D.Y Patil Stadium and Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
Mumbai's famous Wankhede Stadium has hosted only one final in the history of the IPL in 2018, where CSK had emerged victorious, beating SRH.
Only two IPL finals have been hosted outside India. The 2009 tournament was held in South Africa and the final was played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The 2020 and 2021 editions were also shifted out of India and the tournaments were played in the UAE, with the final held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
