They won their first-ever IPL title here in 2022 by beating Rajasthan Royals, and a year later, the same turf hosted one of Shubman Gill's finest knocks, when he scored a dazzling 129 against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2, that carried GT to another final appearance.

He sits second in the Orange Cap standings with 722 runs to his name, and scored a century in the previous match against Rajasthan Royals in Chandigarh to secure the final berth.
Gill has momentum on his side, and although Bhuvneshwar Kumar will look to trouble him with the new ball, the odds favour the batsman.
In fact, when the two sides met in the league stage earlier in the campaign, Gill took the chase apart with a brutal 43 off 18 balls, and GT crossed the line with four wickets to spare.
