Who is Freddy? That's a question everyone who has discovered this German fan's viral journey through the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is asking.

It's a question that, right now, doesn't seem to have a full answer. But what's clear is that Freddy is going on a journey that is captivating thousands upon thousands of people.

Freddy, as best anyone can tell, came to the U.S. to follow Germany at this World Cup, seemingly with a couple of friends.

  • On June 13, they ate at a Raising Cane's in Louisiana. They also got a tour of the LSU facilities after going out on Bourbon Street the night before.
  • On June 12, they got to see both the Saints and Pelicans facilities in New Orleans, and they looked for alligators.
  • On June 11, they went to a Bass Pro Shops in Alabama.
  • On June 10, they discovered country music star Ella Langley. They also ate at Buc-ees.
  • On June 9, they watched a friendly at Auburn.
  • On June 8, they went river tubing in Tennessee. They also ate at Wendy's and Waffle House.
  • On June 7, they went to a Walmart.
