7 carries for one yard. Where’s our safe designed runs. I mean it’s good he’s becoming a strict pocket passer, but the offense opens when he uses his legs.

I am the on the opposite end of the spectrum. Kyler for longevity should not have more than one or two designed runs until playoffs. Even five a game a few too many.

I’d much rather he not have to run but it’s just a bonus that everyone knows he can, that in itself is a huge liability on the D.

I don’t want to see my qb run unless he has no other options..... I mean, maybe an occasional draw if we just need a yard.
But this ain’t Madden

I say this because I see Mahommes scrambling and running for the first if need be. But I’m not going to use Allen as an example since he is built to withstand more punishment and is basically Cam 2.0 . Kyler used to do that but now he’s staying in the pocket much more. I don’t know if it’s coaching or more confidence in his receivers/O-line.

It is weird cause Kyler rushed for almost 180 yards against the 49ers last year (if you dont include kneel downs)

To me the difference is Kyler cutting up the middle of the field to run on the 49ers last year. He was trying to get outside too much and it wasn working. The play where he was forced to throw the ball away would have been a nice gainer, but he tried to run outside the safety. If he cuts it up its a big first down.
