I have grave doubts that Monti or Sears are deeply involved in the coaching search.

Hard to imagine your first major decision in a new role being telling your boss his choice sucks. Maybe they’re selling Michael, but…

I'm sure selling would be the thing, talking him up, Sears would be, I doubt Monti knows much about him.

I wonder about this as well. My hope is that the shift from Michael to Monti is what has caused this to take a bit longer.

Only the Cardinals would use the Lions as an example of a winning organization.

Well, their franchise is technically more of a winning franchise than ours and many others.

The Lions have won four NFL championships, tied for 9th overall in total championships amongst all 32 NFL franchises; although the last was in 1957, which gives the club the second-longest NFL championship drought behind the Arizona Cardinals.
