There are 30 Little League districts in Pennsylvania; might a team from the Keystone State bring back to America the Little League Baseball World Series championship?

The defending champion entering the 2026 tournament is Chinese Taipei, while the most recent U.S. team to win the overall LLBWS championship was Lake Mary Little League of Florida in 2024.

Founded in Pennsylvania, Little League has grown into the world's largest organized youth sports program, with millions of players participating worldwide.

Here's what Little League fans need to know ahead of the 2026 tournament.

When and where is the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series?​

The '26 LLBWS tournament will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and will run through Sunday, Aug. 30.

The LLBWS will be held in north-central Pennsylvania at the Little League International Complex in South Williamsport.

Which teams will compete in the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series?​

Ten American teams will compete for the 2026 LLBWS title:

• Great Lakes
• Metro
• Mid-Atlantic
• Midwest
• Mountain
• New England
• Northwest
• Southeast
• Southwest
• West

In addition, ten international teams will compete for the Little League championship:

• Asia-Pacific (West Seoul LL)
• Australia (Ryde Little League)
• Canada
• Caribbean (Los Nacionales LL)
• Curaçao (Pariba LL)
• Europe and Africa (South Czech Republic LL)
• Japan (Joto LL)
• Latin America (Ministerio Sobre Las Alas Del Aguila LL)
• Mexico (Municipal De Tijuana LL)
• Panama (David Doleguita LL)

How do teams qualify for the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series?​

Teams earn berths in the Little League Baseball World Series through regional tournament competition.

The tournament field is made up of U.S. regional champions and international regional champions that advance to South Williamsport.

The LLBWS regional tournaments will begin as early as Thursday, Aug.. 6. The Mid-Atlantic tournament will begin on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Four teams are in the Mid-Atlantic regional: Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC.

Maryland will face Washington, DC in the early game, while Delaware and Pennsylvania meet in the afternoon game.

Are Little League World Series tickets free?​

Perhaps the best part of the Little League Baseball World Series experience for fans is that tickets are free to every game — but are available on first-come, first-served basis.

If you don't obtain one of the prime seats, there will be room for you to stretch out and watch the games on the complex's lawn just beyond the outfield fences.
