I don't like it either but they will have around 21 days to roll the field out and let it grow.

That and next year they will have the bubble to practice in East of the stadium.

They sure need it. The field always looked great at the beginning of the year. I would trade a good looking field for a few more wins if that was at all possible.

They will probably resod the entire thing for the regular season. Last exhibition game is on the road, and no home game till Week 2, so plenty of time for fresh sod to settle in. Should look tits for home opener, not to worry.

Jurecki was saying on the radio yesterday that immediately after the 2nd preseason game, at home, they're going to do everything they can to get it back into decent shape.

I read something on it, can't find it now - think it was in the AZ Republic. I think we should play a game in the mud! water that sucker down and bring in some RED CLAY!

i was right there with ya;)

This field will be trash all year IMO, compared to being the best field in the NFL as voted by the players each year.

This

They talked about that weeks ago and said in that short time frame a resod you would see grass flying everywhere ripping from the ground and injuring players. Resod will not be possible in a 2-3 week time frame.

We will be off the thing for 2 full weeks after this weekend. Should clean up. The crazy thing is we don't have any long stretches on the road at ALL this year where we could re-sod. 3 weeks after the Detroit game is the longest.

It won't be two weeks after the re-sod, it will be three. Then a game. Then three more weeks.

Jurecki told me that the plan is to just move the field outside after the Chargers game for 22 days of sun. No plans to re-sod

22 days of desert sun in 100 plus, grass loves that!

:(

If its the right kind of grass and watered regularly its better than resodding which wont have enough time to take a true hold.

Fresh sod would not have settled in by then and the grass would not have solid roots for people to run on it. It would be a disaster.

Doesnt matter. if you plant grass and then play football on it a few weeks later you will demolish the grass. The roots have to take hold.

Grass grows great in AZ. Sun devil always had lush fields too and it is never indoors.

This.
