Devon Park is going to feel a little different this week for the Women's College World Series.

Coach Patty Gasso and the eight-time NCAA champion OU softball team will miss this year's WCWS for the first time since 2015, when the Sooners fell at Alabama in the NCAA Super Regional.

The third-seeded Sooners were shut out 6-0 by Mississippi State on Sunday in Game 3 of the Norman Super Regional, ending a streak of nine consecutive trips to Oklahoma City.

With the win, the Bulldogs advance to their first WCWS. MSU will face Texas Tech in its first game next week.

Before Sunday, OU hadn’t been shut out at home in 4,056 days when Baylor defeated the Sooners 8-0 on April 16, 2015. Coach Patty Gasso’s squad hadn’t been shutout at all in 399 games.
