Andy Reid has admitted he is having to restrain Travis Kelce from doing too much in Kansas City Chiefs training camp.
The 36-year-old tight end is heading into his 14 season in the league, but he is refusing to take the traditional veteran rest days.
It is no secret that the 2025 season was one to forget for the Chiefs after they ended on a disappointing 6-11 record.
Kelce and Patrick Mahomes will be desperate to bounce back this season and it seems the pair are putting in the hours at camp this summer.
So much so, Reid has admitted he is having to pull Kelce out of snaps during practice.

Andy Reid forced to pull Travis Kelce from Kansas City Chiefs practice
Reid has been so impressed by Kelce and the professionalism he has shown throughout camp, which has rubbed off on Patrick Mahomes.
However, there has to be some management of Kelce’s reps in practice given he is going into Year 14 at the age of 36.
“Yeah, no, you got to pull Travis – otherwise, he’ll stay out on every play. We have a rotation for him, and if he hears the next play and it’s one he kind of likes, you have to fight him to get him off the field,” said Reid on Monday.
“I love that part of him. It’s great for the young guys – that’s the best part. He shares that energy with them, and he’s not afraid to get on guys and challenge them. And then, you know, he walks his part of it.”
Questions were being asked at the start of camp as to whether Kelce returned significantly out of shape.
Clearly that is not the case, with the veteran tight end arguably working harder than anyone else during camp to prepare for the new season.
The Chiefs are going to need Kelce back at his best following noticeable regression in his output over the last three seasons.
Having settled down by marrying Taylor Swift during the summer, a big season could be ahead for the future Hall of Fame tight end.
