Since 2007, the PGA Tour has had the FedEx Cup Playoffs and it's back once again. This three-tournament series starts with the top 70 finishers in the points standings with the field whittled to 50 and then to 30 before the FedEx Cup champion is crowned.
What are the FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments in 2026? Where are they being held? Who's in the top 70 (and who isn't?). The answers to those questions can be found here.
The PGA Tour's postseason will be contested for the 20th time this season. This comes on the heels of a 34-event regular season, which ended last week at the Wyndham Championship.
The list of 70 names includes, of course, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy a host of the tour's stars. There's also a few surprises, including Jackson Koivun, who held on to snag the 70th and final spot.
It's a pretty good list of who's who, with Jason Day and Keegan Bradley having long postseason streaks ending. Other names on this list may surprise as well.
FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, is the first stop, Aug. 13-16. The top 70 in the standings will start here.
BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club, St. Louis, is the one FedEx Cup Playoffs event that moves around to a new location each year. This year it'll be held Aug. 20-23 with the top 50 from the previous week advancing.
Tour Championship is once again at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Aug. 27-30, with only the top 30 golfers still standing.
In 2018, Tiger Woods won the Tour Championship but Justin Rose won the season-long points title. In 2019, that format was changed, so that they are one in the same.
This will be Year 2 of a traditional scoring system at the finale. For years, the PGA Tour had a "starting strokes" format, which was instituted in 2019. It gave FedEx Cup leaders a head start and would sometimes keep the golfer with the lowest four-day total from winning.
The Tour Championship winner also earns a five-year exemption, and that means a lot of job security.

There have been 16 different winners of the FedEx Cup with one two-winner and one three-time winner.
