The New York Jets advanced to the AFC Championship Game in 2010 before falling short of winning their second Super Bowl. Since then, it's been 15 long seasons of a postseason drought for the franchise.
In their first season under head coach Aaron Glenn, the Jets posted their worst record since 2020, finishing the season 3-14. They enter this coming season hoping that they can fare a bit better in Glenn's second year at the helm and start to right the ship after a difficult decade and a half. So what is the ceiling (and the floor) for the New York Jets in 2026?
Ceiling: 5-12
Let's be honest –how much better do you see this getting for the Jets this year? Glenn seemed to be a bit in over his head as a first-time head coach. While three first-round draft picks should help boost the overall talent levels, there is still a lot to be desired in terms of skill on this roster. And if we're relying on Geno Smith to guide the team to success at quarterback, it's unclear he can reach the level of success he had in Seattle again.
Floor: 2-15
Amid all the recent offseason controversy and an abysmal 2025 campaign, there's a possibility that Geno Smith is in significant decline as an NFL quarterback. There's a possibility that Glenn isn't ready to handle this job, and if the situation at signal-caller ends up no better than last year, it could be an even longer year for fans than last season was.
