It’s no secret that there aren’t a lot of high expectations when it comes to the 2026 Miami Dolphins and their revamped roster. The team has undergone massive changes at almost every position under the new leadership of first-time general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and first-year head coach Jeff Hafley, and as a result, the upcoming season could be a painful watch for Dolphins fans around the globe.
Recently, the National Football League’s official website released a ‘Dolphins 2026 Season Preview’ video breaking down the multitude of changes that have taken place in South Florida this offseason. The video also provided a “ceiling” record prediction if all things went right for Miami, as well as a “floor” prediction if the season went completely off the rails.
We’ll start with the team’s predicted ceiling.
Dolphins Ceiling — 7 wins
If all things go right for Miami, the experts predict the team would top out at 7 wins this season. In this scenario, they have the Dolphins with wins against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1, the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, the New York Jets and New England Patriots in Week 7 and Week 8, the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10, the Jets again in Week 12, and the Chicago Bears in Week 14.
Of course, the team would miss out on the playoffs if they mustered seven wins, but the future would look bright for the franchise under the new leadership team.
Dolphins Floor – 1 win
Of course, the flip-side to a ceiling prediction is the floor prediction that follows. In this scenario, nothing goes right for Miami and they manage to win just one game, while losing 16 of them. Strangely, the video doesn’t give us a prediction as to which game the Dolphins would win, but one could guess that it would be one of the games against the Jets since the ceiling prediction has Miami sweeping the season series with New York.
NFL.com Panel Record Predictions
Finally, after covering the best and worst case scenarios for the Dolphins in 2026, the team at the league’s official website gave their final record prediction for how Miami’s upcoming season will go.
- Nick Shook: 2-15
- Dan Parr: 2-15
- Colleen Wolfe: 3-14
- Lance Zierlein: 4-13
- Grant Gordon: 4-13
- Brooke Cersosimo: 4-13
- Bucky Brooks: 5-12
Only Bucky Brooks has the squad topping the 4.5 over/under win total that odds makers set for the Dolphins final record in 2026.
