Seattle Seahawks linebacker Boye Mafe is just three days away from being able to sign with any of the 32 teams in the NFL as an unrestricted free agent.
Mafe last signed a four-year, $8.5 million deal with the Seahawks in 2022. The 27-year-old has seen a year-over-year regression in the sacks department since 2023. Mafe recorded nine sacks in 2023, six in 2024, as well as two in 2025 for Seattle. He played in 17 games, only four of which he started, for the Seahawks last season after making 27 starts from 2023-24. The Minnesota native registered one forced fumble, four tackles for loss as well as four quarterback hits in 2025. Mafe won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2026.
Spotrac gave Mafe a market value projection of $12.2 million in free agency.
The Seahawks currently have $58 million in salary cap space. Seattle has nine other unrestricted free agents as well as five other restricted free agents to consider with the money that they have to expend once the free agency signing window opens on March 11.
