I think it's a question you can't answer when Kolb has played only 4 games in your system.

I don't think we'll be bad enough to get the first pick but if we do, and Luck is in the draft, then you do your homework.how did Kolb play the last 12 games? What exactly is the trade value for the rights to draft Andrew Luck, what is it for Kolb?

I'd take Luck and figure the rest out myself but then I've seen every game Luck has played at Stanford just about, I've been saying since he was a redshirt he was going to be a star.

Yes, you take Luck. Has nothing to do with Kolb though. You let Kolb play a couple of years, and move Luck in after sitting the bench for a year and a half or so. In that year on the bench, you fix the ef out of the Oline.

:championship:

Right the dream scenario would be you draft Luck and Kolb plays well enough that you can trade him later for good picks when Luck is ready.

The thing is Luck is probably going to be ready fairly quickly. Which is why it's a pipe dream you almost need Kolb to play well enough the last 12 games and if he does, there's no way we're going to get the first pick.

I'm more concerned with how we stop losing these close games personally.

I feel the same way. Someone on the Cardinals staff has to figure out a way to fix the Cards short yardage problems so they can work the clock and build a prevent that actually prevents the other team from winning.

The Cards have now lost late leads in 5 of 7 games dating back to last season. Only a missed extra point by Dallas keeps it from being 6 of 7.

I dont care if Kolb is the answer or not, you make the pick........GB had Favre starting but still took a QB,...not at #1 but still a high pick...SanDiego took Manning/Rivers while paying Brees...
Take Luck, have him sit behind Kolb for a couple seasons....either the position is set longer, or in a few years we are trading Kolb or Luck for pro bowl players and more draft picks.
It could be argued that you trade the pick/player for a mega ton of draft picks.....but I do not think so,....good QB's are scarce, and franchise QB's are even harder to find...if Luck will be anywhere near as good as the "experts" claim.....only a damned fool walks away from the draft without him.

This scenario will piss me off. Of course you take Luck but we would have at least kept our 2nd rounder & DRC. We should have just signed Hasselback.

was banging this drum all off-season and people kept telling me he was completely washed up.

dude's a winner and was stuck with zero weapons on a terrible team up in Seattle the last couple years. He's EXACTLY what this team needed. A leader at QB.

As bad as we are....

I think Miami and Indy are worse. LUCK will be gone when we pick 3rd or 4th. The Minny game this Sun. is intriguing in light of the Luck speculation. How bad are the 0-4 Vikings??

not as bad as the 1-4 Cardinals will be come Monday!

but yes, Miami and Indy will likely lose more games than us unfortunately.

Maybe Robert Griffin III from Baylor will come out early and we can get him instead.

Hasselbeck is playing well but the Cardinals were looking for someone to potentially be QB for longer than Hasselbeck has left in the league. The #1 pick is too unlikely to even consider it as part of your plan, IMO. Right now there are 7 teams tied with our poor record and 3 with worse records. One of each in our own division.

I concur that if you have the #1 you take Luck. But I'm not sure you can even really think about it until after the second game against the Niners.

With our great running game, we are now a ground and pound team. I think that we can win with KK, but I'm not sure. We have 11 games to find out.

I think its too early in the season for this poll. We have lots of time yet to see if Kolb is what we were looking for in a QB before we have to make that decision.

Stupid thread looking at the draft four weeks into the season. Luck is only coming to the desert as a visitor

It's a hypothetical situation, obviously. :mulli:

If the Cards go 1-6, which is a very, very realistic possibility. You'll be looking forward to the draft more than anything else, trust me...

Minny is too bad for words, I predict after we win that game, that people will again have us in the playoffs.

Then reality will come back from vacation.

We will never get that pick.

We NEVER draft 1st and we're not going to start during one of the best years to do it ever.

Nope, expect a win here or there and another bad pick, we'll never sniff that pick, mark it down.
^This...

I don't care if we drafted John Unitas in his prime, we will never win until this organization realizes how important a good defensive and offensive line means to winning.
...and especially ^THIS!!!!!!!^

This team is not terrible. Terrible is getting the crap beat out of you by 17 to 20 points a game. This team is frustrating and heart breaking in the manner they lose games in the final moments...which in some aspects is worse than being terrible.
