BEREA ― The next phase of the Browns training camp begins Aug. 7 with Day 9 of training camp.
Cleveland wrapped up its eight-practice installation period the previous day. This practice moves now into the real meat and potatoes portion of camp where the competition and evaluation really ramps up across the board as the training wheels come off.
Coach Todd Monken said it will also be the most trimmed down in terms of pads for the week. It's the one practice which will only be in helmet ahead of their final fully-padded practice of the week Aug. 8.

The rains and the forecast for more rain has led the Browns to move the practice inside the field house. That means the practice will be closed to the general public due to space constraints.
With the closing of today's camp to fans, the Browns have three remaining training camp practices open to the general public. All practices are scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m., with the gates opening one hour in advance. Practices that are moved inside due to the weather will be closed to the public.
