Other than no injuries (which can be said for any game played no matter preseason or regular season).

I want to see the first team offense in for one series...and have it an effective ball moving series. Points would be nice but just a nice solid drive will be good enough...then get them to the sidelines.

First team defense I want to see a solid set...preferably a nice 3 and out and let their jobs be basically done for the night.

After that, I really want to see McCown play the rest of the game at QB. Since it appears the Cards are content going with him as backup again this year, let's get him some serious playing time tonight.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot I want a win...preferably a big win. I hate the Vikings.

Chandler AZ.
I think

it will be important to watch the corners. If we can match up against Minnesota we might be ok for now. I wouldn't be opposed to switching Stone to CB for a few series and see what he's got there. Other than that, starters in-starters out. That concrete is killer. AND if there are any snags in the carpet- refuse to put the boys out there.

I'd like to see the starters on the bench. I believe the last time we played the Vikes in Minnie for the last preseason game we lost 2 starters for the year.:(

I get home at 3:15, just in time for the pre-game-huddle on 1060!

Really, I want to see the CB's produce, the D continue to play well, and the O to move the ball.

We really need to have the "A" Team (Offense and Defense) in for at least the first quarter. We haven't had the O-Line together yet this pre season and we need to see what they look like as a complete unit. Same for the RB's......neither Smith nor Shipp have worked behind our projected starting O-Line. We NEED to know if we really do have the ability to march downfield and eat up a clock. After that, put in our second stringers and any others who we have to take a long hard look at.

Same thing on defense. Play a quarter with whatever our "A" team is. It will be an eye opener learning how we match up to a pass happy opposition. Then sit both "a" teams down, hopefully injury free.

Then head home........give the players a tiny break over Labor Day and head on up to Detroit to get this going for real.

I haven't seen a single play yet, except for the Emmitt Smith highlight on 3rd down from the first game.

I wanna see our pass rush against Minnesotas O-line which is pretty good!

I also want to see more passing in this game by the B/U QBs! They need the reps!

Beasts on the jumbotron! I want to see our big guys making big plays. Plenty of highlight reel plays featuring that monster FB Hodgins destroying linebackers. I doubt Minny will show many highlights of our players, but hopefully those will be the only ones to choose from. I'm glad we've got Hodgins, that guy is a beast! Maybe some pancake blocks by our huge 0-line. :D

#1 No injuries for either team.

#2 rotate corners on Moss until you find someone that can reasonably cover him.

#3 Switch Mike Stone back to corner and play him there.

#4 Bryan Gilmore continue to progress. Like it or not, he is our top guy.

#5 Natural pressure, not schemed pressure.

Are you encouraging him to be like Mckinly and Boston?

I guess that'd be one way to make McCown relax in the pocket, wouldn't it?

I second that!

I pray to the football god for no injuries, I saw Emmitt last night talking about breaking his hand there, that place is cursed, astro turf and all.

Now if only our corners weren't always getting torched...
