What do the Coyotes new owners need to do to get butts in seats?

Now that an impasse has finally been reached and the city of Glendale/Phoenix metro area will retain it's hockey team for the time being; what steps do new owners need to do in your opinion as methods to draw fans?

For the last three years, it's been about the instable ownership situation. Before, it was lackluster product on the ice. Now however, they have actual owners who seem committed to making it work here while spending money to build a winner; a great front office and head coach and perhaps most of all, Glendale on board.

Now what happens? How does this ownership group convince people to check out a hockey game on a Wednesday in November?

Move.

But seriously... they need to win and win a lot. I dont think there is any other way to build a fan base for hockey here. The Suns are always going to have a following because they've got the most history here, the Cards because the NFL is so huge, the Dbacks because baseball has no competition in the summer and they've been successful, which helps. The Coyotes are in a tough spot. I'm not striking any new cords by saying this is a bad market for hockey, and I wish it were not the case because I like hockey and the team. The long time locals have never played it and the people who have migrated here, many are still loyal to their old brand.

Hopefully knowing the team will not move will help. People will know they're investing themselves in something that wont threaten to leave every summer.

I bet they are thinking they will need to grow the committed fan base organically. They need to bide their time while a younger generation that grew up playing hockey. I would say they plan to have a lot of community outreach and focused on the youth market. Sponsoring or at least promoting youth leagues (which I believe they already do) will help to cultivate a market over the long run. Now if they can just generate the sufficient cash flow over the short run...

there are some youth initiatives in place, but it needs to ramp up

they also need to really work to build their brand locally and provide some branding towards the youth

can't believe how difficult it has been to find decent merch options for my kids - even my wife ...... when I took them to a game last year I settled on a pair of white t-shirts that ran like $35 a pop just so they could have something knowing full well that white isn't the best option for a pair of toddlers

game experience is really good, but could be tweaked a little .... again thinking through a kids lense if they had a designated time where Howler would be able to meet/greet kids that would be great ..... we sat fairly close and my kids had some good interaction towards the end of the game and my daughter wouldn't stop talking about howler for weeks

community outreach, build the brand and simply win
