As the 2026 FIFA World Cup works its way through the Round of 32, the host teams from the United States and Mexico are already booked into the Round of 16 and know their opponents.
The USMNT can reach the quarterfinals for the second time in its history when it takes on Belgium on Monday, July 6, while Mexico is looking for its third trip to the quarterfinals when it plays England on Sunday, July 5.

Beyond that, the path is less clear, depending on which other teams on their side of the bracket win, but the cities and dates for potential quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are already set.

The United States Men's National Team's bracket path to the finals is as follows:
Round of 16: US vs Belgium, Monday, July 6, Seattle
Quarterfinals: vs. Portugal/Croatia-Spain/Austria, July 10, Los Angeles
Semifinals: vs. Paraguay/France-Canada/Morocco, July 14, Dallas
Finals: July 19, New York
Match: US vs. Belgium
Stadium: Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field)
Date: Monday, July 6
Kickoff time: 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT
TV, streaming: FOX (English), Fox One, Telemundo (Spanish), stream with FUBO
Starting lineups aren't due until one hour before Monday's 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT start, but speculation centers around El Pasoan Ricardo Pepi starting in place of Folarin Balogun, who received a red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina and is on an automatic one-game suspension (the US can't appeal).
Pepi received two starts in the group stage, subbing out injured Christian Pulisic. Subbing him in for Balogun could potentially keep the rest of the lineup intact from the side that beat Bosnia.
Mexico's bracket path to the finals is as follows:
Round of 16: Mexico vs. England, Sunday, July 5, Mexico City
Quarterfinals: vs. Brazil/Norway, July 11, Miami
Semifinals: July 15, Atlanta. 8 potential opponents including Argentina, Colombia
Finals: July 19, New York
After starting against Ecuador in a knockout-stage game and playing well, Gilberto Mora is widely expected to get another start against England.
