BUDA — With every passing game, the Westlake girls basketball team continues to reach new milestones during a season that has been perfect.

So far.

The Chaparrals (39-0) continued to roll through the UIL state playoffs by routing Converse Judson 61-38 Saturday at the Hays High gymnasium in a game that was over by halftime. Westlake set a school record — girls and boys — in total victories. The win pushes the Chaps in a Class 6A state semifinal game Tuesday against Pearland Shadow Creek (33-4). Time and site have not been determined.

This is the first time in 30 years that the Chaps have reached the state semis.

Senior Tamia King led a balance scoring attack with 16 points while freshman point guard Peyton Hensle scored 14, including four 3-pointers. Forward Wynn Thorne scored 12 points and Townsend Hamilton chipped in with 11.

The game was determined early as Westlake seemingly could not miss a shot. King nailed a short jumper as the buzzer sounded to end the first quarter and give the Chaps a 25-9 lead. Hamilton nailed a 3-pointer from the left baseline as time expired in the second quarter to increase the lead to 45-18 at halftime.

"I think I want this more for them than (they) do," Chaps coach Vickie Benson said. "Hopefully, Lord willing, I'm going to be doing this for a long time but they only get four years to do it."

This has been a special season for King, who has signed to play for the University of Houston next year.

"We don't think about (our record)," she said. "All year long we've talked about what it would be like to be a champion. It's not the championship, it's all the days that lead up to that. Act like a champion every day."

In other Central Texas regional final games:

Glenn stuns Wagner: Sophomore Libby Lee — the American-Statesman's 2025 Central Texas girls newcomer of the year — poured in 26 points to lead Glenn to a 63-59 win over previously undefeated and top-ranked San Antonio Wagner in the Region IV-5A DI final. It was a rematch of last year's bidistrict game in which Wagner upset the Grizzlies and went on to the state tournament.

Glenn's balanced attack was led by Lee, but she had substantial support from Ariel Goppy (16 points) and CeCe Flournoy-Walker (14). Jennah Lee added five points, Willow Mallory had two and Kinley Huberty had a strong defensive game for the Grizzlies (34-3). Wagner's season ended at 35-1.

"It was an amazing game," Grizzlies coach Katina Flournoy-Walker said. "It was nice to have a four-headed basketball dragon. They tried to cut off the main head, but we had three more they could not stop.”

Cedar Park tops Tivy:Cedar Park — Glenn's District 23-5A foe — advanced to the Class 5A DII state semifinals with a 41-33 win over Kerrville Tivy. The Timberwolves are in the state's final four for the fourth time in five years.

The Timberwolves played tenacious defense and were led offensively by Grace Slaughter's 13 points and Hope Richards' 10. Ahnna Breiner added nine points and 10 rebounds while Jayla Green had five points.

Bowie falls short:Bowie, which finished fourth in District 26-6A, saw its tremendous playoff run end in its Region IV-6A DI final, a 50-45 loss to San Antonio Brennan. The Bulldogs (26-12) trailed early but closed to 48-45 late in the game on Danica Williams' 3-pointer and Sydney Ashby's floater, but Brennan sealed the win with a pair of late free throws. A flurry of second-half 3-pointers from Grace Guzman, Williams and Madison Corion spurred Bowie's rally.

Lago Vista eliminated:Comal Davenport beat Lago Vista 69-48 in their Class 4A regional final, using a decided height advantage over the Vikings (23-11), which had their best playoff run in a decade.
