WESTFIELD — Purdue football's recent stack of commitments from within Indiana grew Thursday with a commitment from Westfield offensive lineman Nicholas Schurman.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Schurman announced his commitment on social media. The three-star prospect, No. 1,057 nationally in the Rivals industry ranking, became the Boilermakers' fourth in-state commitment for the 2027 class.

Schurman picked Purdue over offers from Indiana, Virginia, Stanford and others. He joins Warren Central defensive back Kaleb Elkins, Andrean linebacker Ethan Reyna and Lawrence North running back Izayveon Moore as in-state commits.

He is also the second offensive line commit for this class, following Cincinnati Moeller tackle Patrick O'Brien.

Schurman helped Westfield to its second consecutive Class 6A runner-up finish last season.
