SHELDON, IA (KELO) — West Lyon baseball clinched its spot in the Iowa 2A state tournament on Tuesday night with a 4-3 win over Hinton.
The Wildcats battled their way out of two separate bases loaded situations in the opening two innings, thanks in large part to Bryce **** coming in for early relief in the second. West Lyon staved off a late Blackhawks comeback in the seventh, cutting off Hinton’s tying run at second to end the game.
The Wildcats improve to 22-1 on the season as the team looks to make a deeper run through the state tournament.
