The Tush Push has no secondary option and requires no QB skills. There is no trick, the defense always knows exactly what’s coming. It’s all about driving your legs forward for 3 feet and taking a hit. It works for the Eagles because their OL is the best in the league and Hurts is massive.

I would prefer it if a fullback was in at QB whenever we run that play. I don’t see any advantage to having your QB run it. In the Vikings/49ers game Purdy ran it for a 1st and took a massive headshot from a linebacker. He threw 2 picks in the next two drives, lost the game, and spent the week in concussion protocol.
Yeah and Hurts can squat 600 lbs. the only qb who can squat like that

Before the tush push, Kansas City did a QB sneak with Patrick Mahomes. He dislocated his knee and missed a few games from it. They no longer run a QB sneak with him.

You and @urs are a riot. I said "if he can't." I also said I think it's the coaches not wanting him to and that he wants to himself. Ergo, that he could. In no world did I say he isn't actually the QBotF. But go on with your bad hating self lol

If the shoe doesn’t fit then don’t wear it bud. The reason you’re so defensive with everyone is cause you know exactly what you meant.

Yes, you insulting me will of course somehow force me to throw out a huge mea culpa lol

If you’re insulted by me disagreeing with your take on this, then I am not sure how you made it this long.

All good , hope you have a great day dude!

He turns 29 this offseason. He hasn't seen a lot of carries throughout his career, but that's really because he's been consistently injured with a relatively small amount of carries.

What does a fair extension for him look like? Whatever happens, his cap charge is 2024 will carry $3 million in pro-rated bonus from his dumb Keim extension.
He would probably ask for 6 mil per year. I could see Monti giving him a 2 year, 12 mil extension. Would keep him through his age 31 year, and give the team some financial flexibility to add another decent RB to share snaps.

2 year, $12 million extension. $8 million guaranteed at signing.

2024 - $3M pro-rated signing bonus, $3.735 million salary* - $6.74M cap charge
2025 - $4 million salary*, $4 million option bonus* - $6 million cap charge
2026 - $4 million salary, $2 million pro-rated bonus - $6 million cap charge

* New guaranteed money

I guess I could live with that, especially because you could get out of the deal 2026 pretty easily.

Good lord, let's hope Monti doesn't go this route with JC. Monumentally stupid. Let's break all the rules about aging, oft-injured RBs because...reasons? Ugh.

Ok lol. Honestly man, take the L. You had a bad take, which in itself is quite common for you if I’m being honest. And you know what man, it’s alright we all say dumb poo from time to time.
Again, you want to throw poo then pretend I'm the one taking it the wrong way. Sure bud. I'll read this and just, like, admit you're totally right lol

I was the opposite. I was curious to see if KM could run the sneak--if he can't do it, let's be honest, he's not the QBOF. I remain curious because it doesn't appear as if the coaches want him doing it, or think he can. This is disappointting.

So let’s talk again about you said “in no world did I say he wasn’t the qbof “?

Go ahead I’ll wait ? Enjoy !

Dude you need to reread your own posts. I can’t keep doing your thinking for you.

You literally said, in post 12 that “if he can’t do it then let’s be honest he is not the qbof”. Later you said “in no world did I say he wasn’t the qbof”.

It is worth considering for sure. Obviously Conner could want more but I feel like this would be a mutually beneficial contract.

If the NFL doesn't ban the tush push, will teams start experimenting with non-QBs? Any teams doing that this year?

Someone said Fotu should run it and I don't think that is in jest. Truly a good idea.

It's a legit play within the rules of the game and whiners are just sore that some teams are better at it than others.
Within the rules only since 2005, when the language prohibiting pushing a runner was inexplicably removed from the rule book.

I'd like to see the prohibition restored. It's a boring play with an almost certain outcome.

On an entirely different note, the rule to allow spiking the ball to stop the clock is stupid also. "Oh, it's an incomplete pass, see?" Lame.

The whole reason the clock stops on an incomplete pass is that the officials presumably need to go fetch the ball from somewhere far from the line of scrimmage, which is not the case for the spike. Why not just give teams some extra 30-second timeouts that can only be called after lining up in a legal formation EDIT: and cost a down? Or anything less arbitrary than pretending the spike play makes sense. It adds nothing to the enjoyment of the game.

Now I'm going outside to yell at these damned clouds!

Dude… it’s a bad take. Hill used to come in for Brees the same way. That in no way meant Brees couldn’t be the man. Also, why would you even want someone small in there to do the play. You’d be purposefully putting yourself at a disadvantage. And if you’re doing the tush push, there’s no trick play out of that.

We see how laughable it is when others are pathologically unable able to admit they’re wrong about something really silly and obvious. Don’t follow that path.

Disagree. The spike play costs the offense a down. Mechanically and dramatically it adds weight to the spike and the plays that follow. Extra timeouts do no have a cost in game mechanics.

Imagine it's first down... qb scrambles but takes a huge sack because there is 35 secs on the clock and he needs a TD to win...but now it's 2nd and 25...defense goes umbrella 3 deep... you complete a 15 yard pass... spike the ball...stop the clock at 20 seconds...4th and 10...from the 40 yd line... it's all on this play.....

The play loses a ton if they get a free timeout and have 2 tries to get the first.

On the JC extension, hopefully 1 million of the 6 million is in the form of bonuses for being on the game day active roster.

Prior to Williams injury, some mocks had him as high as the 11th pick and all mocks prior to his injury had him in the 1st round.

For BJ, some had his as high as thr 5th pick and most had him in the 1st round.

Now that both appear to be healthy, we could have three 1st round type players from this class.
