Byrnes softball’s attempt to win back-to-back 5A Division I state championships was denied by Summerville Wednesday night as the Green Wave downed the Rebels, 6-3, to claim the crown.
The win avenges Summerville’s loss to Byrnes for the 2025 state championship.
Crescent softball picked-up a 9-8 walk-off win over Hanahan in game one of the 3A state finals series.
The Tigers can wrap-up the program’s first state title since 2013, and 20th all-time to build on its national record, Thursday at Hanahan.
T.L. Hanna saw Chapin earn a series-opening win, 7-3, in game one of their 5A Division II series opener.
