Dorman jumped out to an early lead following a long weather delay and rolled to a 17-1 win in five inning over rival Spartanburg Thursday night to claim the 5A Division I Upper State baseball title. The Cavaliers swept the series in two games.

The Cavaliers await the winner of Saturday’s James Island/River Bluff game to see who they play in next week’s state championship series.

T.L. Hanna rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Indian Land in 5A Division II to extend that best-of-three series to a third game Saturday.

Flora defeated Wren, 13-4, to claim the 4A upper state crown.

The Dixie boys and St. Joe’s girls fell in soccer state championship matches.
