ORCHARD PARK – Highmark Stadium no longer resembles its old self.

Demolition of the Bills’ former home began after its power was disconnected May 1. Work is expected to continue through March 2027 as more than 900,000 square feet of steel, concrete and seating are dismantled.

One Bills Drive looked much different on Tuesday, June 16 than it did when the Bills played their final home game on Jan. 4. Trucks paraded on and off the playing surface, debris lined concourses, and luxury suites sat dark.

Highmark Stadium opened in 1973 as Rich Stadium and hosted Bills games for 53 seasons. The Bills will play home games across Abbott Road at new Highmark Stadium, located at 10 Bills Plaza, starting in 2026.
