Lanterns will be a new series from James Gunn and Peter Safran focusing on two Green Lanterns on Earth, John Stewart and Hal Jordan. According to Gunn, their show will be "more of a True Detective-type mystery. A terrestrial-based mystery that leads into the overall story that we're telling throughout the different movies and television shows [in the DC Universe]. We find this ancient horror on Earth, and these guys are basically supercops on 'Precinct Earth.'"

Ok.

If DC is going to continue to embrace the more serious aspects of Superheroes, this looks like a damn good way to do it. Really interested in this one. What a cast.

yeah, Im digging the casting for this one... it even works if you consider Ryan Rynolds as the young Hal Jordan.. this is a good passing of the torch...errr,...Lantern...ring?

I aint gonna lie, this show hits pretty hard right out of the gate.

side note... dudes dad is totally insane. Im a pretty damned good shot..really good...and from that distance blowing an apple off of a pumpkin would be simple...not even worthy of much concentration...I would be large sums on it if I were using my own weapon and ammo.
But that?? what he did?? Nah. NO. not ever, under any circumstances would I do that. That is insane.

But the show is good... looks like its gonna be a winner...

I couldn’t get into it.

The counterfeit money thing was pretty cool with the ring before Hal puts into the juke box.

Good pilot but man, I hate headlines that blow things that happen in shows.
question....
seems they jumped from 1996....then they told a bunch of the story... then towards the end jumped again to 2026...where I thought we already were...I didnt see a time jump in between to 2015 or 2009 or nything like that but....
was that Hal Jordan, dead, sitting in the frozen stands of the football stadium there at the very end???

yeah... that was the only thing that bummed me out. EVERY show now seems to have a mandate that there needs to be a big dead body drop mystery in it. Hal Jordan's is that for this show. As for timelines, I'm guessing this show is going to do a lot of dual timeline stuff, going back and forth between 2016 (when we meet them in the car and Stewart is a trainee) and 2026 (when they find Jordan's corpse-sickle).
