It wouldn't be for a 1st. It has been reported they would take a 2nd.

We would have to re-do his deal if we did get him.

Did he say what for? Or should that be: "for what?"

2nd round pick? Hell yeah.

1st round pick? Let me think about it.

I think Marshall Faulk:Edgerrin James::Full Sail Pail Ale:Henry Weinhart's Private Reserve.

Oregonians? Agree?

You're saying Faulk is better than James? I think HW Private sucks!

Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale is the way to go.

MirrorPond Pale Ale brewed in Bend, Oregon is awesome.

Living in Bend and my taste buds know a great micro-brew.

Deschutes and Full Sail are both good "local" brews but if you get into Portland try Super Dog at the Lucky Lab. As for the Edge if we can get him for a 2nd and fit him into the cap the Cards would be playoff bound.

For a 1st we might as well draft next Edge with that pick, and he would be 5 years younger and a whole bunch cheaper... so I would pass.

Edge is the real deal

No one can say Brown, Williams or Benson will amount to James at the next level but James is proven. Not only the Cards thought Thomas Jones was going to be a stud during that draft and he turned out much less than what everyone expected. If it would be for a second round and the third round pick traded to us from the Pats I would do it in a heartbeat. Trust me, this team could figure a way to get Edge the money. Synder and Jones do this on a constant basis and it's up to Michael Bidwill to move this franchise to that next level if the opportunity presents itself.

Imagine the offense with James in there... I agree that he is the stud RB and the real deal vs. risks of bust draft choices.

I would trade Shipp and a second for James. Trade Shelton for a second. Shop Pace, Bryant, Thompson and Clement for more picks. Trade all of our picks from the lowest second on down for a first. Sign Hartwell ( that would give both sides of the ball an Edge). Then use all of our remaining picks on one of the top 3 backs and corners. Also re-sign Hill.

This would free up alot of cap space and limit the amount we would have to pay out for rookies.

I know this has really not been thrown out there, but why can't we send Shelton to the Colt for James. They would be saving 5 million a year and have another experienced O-Lineman for really cheap. Maybe we can throw in a 7th to make them happy.

Because the Colts:
1. Are one of the only teams in the league that do not have a need for another starting OT

2. Can't afford Shelton. Remember, Shelton is cheap compared to what a player of his caliber costs, but that doesn't mean that he's a cheap player.

We could, however, trade Shelton to the Bucs for their 2nd rounder and then send our own 2nd rounder to Indy for Edge.

I doubt it'll happen, though...

If we can get "the EDGE" for a second round choice we should trade our first round choice for a couple of 2nd rounders and save the first round money so to pay "the EDGE". More good bodies for less money!

Bringing in James would be like bring in Warner which was like bring in Emmitt. Develop young players, blah blah blah. :)

Even with his contract?

He isn't currently under any contract, he's been franchised but isn't signed. The way the deal would go down is the trade would be contingent on the Cardinals negotiating a contract with his agent (it isn't Rosenhaus is it??--I know he represents a lot of Florida based players).

Who could be cut that could save a significant cap number? What would Clement and Thompson save us if they were cut/traded?

To be honest if it came down to it I'd much rather have James than Hartwell, although Hartwell is proven I think Hayes just needs a chance and James would help this team more than Hartwell.

I checked Rosenhaus is his agent and we know how far we are getting with that scum bag representing Boldin.

I now seriously doubt anything will happen.

No Cards are in position to land a good played in round 1!!! Rolle Johnson or Pacman!! Imagine how crazy the D could become.
