Watford has been moved to the starting RT on the Card's depth chart.

Interesting tidbit from the post, "Whether Massie might be unavailable for the start of the season — nothing official has been announced about Massie missing games — is beside the point for now".

Has Massie not officially been disciplined by the league yet?

No official word on Massie yet... And, should Watford play well tomorrow night, coupled with Hump's improvement noted by the coaches this week, I think Sowell is a gonner...

It seems like Massie hasn't been officially suspended yet or at least the team hasn't been officially notified of the suspension. So far, there is just the initial report by Adam Schefter that the suspension is coming.

Obviously they expect him to be suspended or else they wouldn't be running him with the 3rd & 4th string units in pre-season.

It's already been reported that he plans to appeal to try to get it reduced to 2 games.

So how pissed will the Cardinals be if no suspension actually happens & Adam Schefter is full of it? They would've wasted the whole pre-season trying to find his replacement for 3 games instead of creating chemistry along the starting O-Line unit. I know Schefter works for ESPN & should be a fairly reliable source, but how messed up would it be if he was really just a Seahawks fan screwing with the Cardinals.

I doubt the Cardinals make personnel decisions based on adam ****ing schefter's gossip

its not gossip. Massie got a DUI and WILL be suspended for a portion of this season unless somehow his appeals lifts all traditional NFL discipline.

Shaun Church chimes in:

And who knows—if Watford plays well enough in Massie’s absence, Arians may decide to roll with him all season. After all, Massie is in a contract year and, as a two-plus-year starter on a playoff team, he could be looking for big money next offseason. There is a real chance Massie does not return next season regardless of whether he plays this season or not.

Starters won't play on Thursday, does that include Earl?

No, Earl is starting at RT on Thursday to get reps.. Bradley Sowell is starting at LT -- so I think it is assumed that Big Earl is the starting RT unless something goes very wrong.

I hope he plays well because nobody wants to see Sowell starting a regular season game.

I'm really not sure what Sowell's value is to this roster. He has proven he can't play either tackle position, he has no upside or versatility. If Watford shows anything I would hope the roster spot will be used on a more deserving player than Sowell.

Just wondering because I really don't know much about the Saints D, but should our O line being as it is now (w/o Massie and Iputai) be able to hold up in the opening game? Do they have a Mack type from Oakland that destroyed our Oline last week?

I think we will all be happier when Sowell is finally cut from this roster. The dude is not an NFL caliber Tackle. Heck, he might not even be an SEC caliber tackle.

Wasn't he a starter in the SEC?

Edit: Yep, Ole Miss, opposite side of Massie

They don't have anybody remotely similar to Mack. Cameron Jordan is their best pass rusher and he's more of a power guy. Junior Gallette was their speed pass rusher that gave our tackles fits, but he's not on the team anymore. I think the cardinals match up really well against the Saints and it should be a W.

Not to mention their secondary is in shambles. Look for some big deep ball plays. Brees is a threat, but now that graham is gone, meh..
