MITCHELL — The Watertown Curling Club is hosting a Learn to Curl event on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena.

The event, which is free, will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Driscoll Rink.

The Watertown Curling Club also plans to host a six-week curling league on Sundays from Feb. 15 through March 22. The eight-team league will have four people per team. The fee is $100 per player or $400 per team.

Hanson Boys Corn Palace Classic​


MITCHELL — No. 3 Class A Clark-Willow Lake and No. 6 Class A Hamlin each will face No. 1-rated teams the 44th Hanson Boys Corn Palace Basketball Classic on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.

Admission, good for all eight games, is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Hamlin, No. 6 in Class A, meets No. 1 Class B Viborg-Hurley at 5 p.m. and No. 3 Class A Clark-Willow Lake meets No. 1 Class A West Central at 8 p.m.

Other games include White River vs. Hanson at 11 a.m., Sioux Valley vs. Dakota Valley at 12:30 p.m., Lyman vs. Parkston at 2 p.m., No. 6 Class 5 Wessington Springs vs. No. 7 Class B Freeman at 3:30 p.m. and No. 4 Class A St. Thomas More vs. No. 9Class A Lennox at 6:30 p.m.

Game times are approximate. Games will start 15 minutes after the completion of the previous game.
