Devaughn Vale came to the Denver Broncos as a 26-year-old rookie out of Utah last spring. He served two years as a Mormon Missionary and, after a redshirt season, played four years as a wide receiver for the Utes. So, while Vale was a rookie by name, his life experience allowed him to contribute to Sean Payton’s offense as a mature player in Year 1.
Vale caught on as a third option in Broncos head coach Sean Payton’s system. Although he only played in 13 games, he grabbed 42 passes for 475 yards and three touchdowns. Despite being a seventh-round draft pick, he established himself as a viable No. 2 wide receiver. With his size (6-5, 210 pounds), he has all the makings to be a prime contributor in Payton’s offense for years.
