Quarterback Bryce Young continues to grow into his role as the guy for the Carolina Panthers.
The first session of organized team activities for the reigning NFC South champions got off to a rainy start on Tuesday. Young and company took the field to a hard downpour, making the early stages of practice a tad difficult to navigate through.
But even after the weather settled down, Carolina's pass catchers had trouble, well, catching the ball. And that didn't sit too well with Young, who is known for being an even-keeled guy . . .

Following the outing, head coach Dave Canales was asked about what he saw in Young's intensity.
"Yeah, just total command of the system, and knowing what he's looking for, the timing of things," Canales replied. "And the more that he owns it, the more he's looking for specific things out of the tight ends, wideouts and backs as the concepts come alive.
"I heard him get a little bit passionate about . . . we got a little bit of a monsoon there in practice. And once the rain had passed, he was like, 'Hey, let's lock back in, we gotta come up with these balls.' I think he said it in a little bit more colorful language than that.
"But yeah, I just love it. I love the fact that he's taking ownership and the guys see that and rally around that, and something that they all appreciate."
Young is fresh off his best pro campaign yet—where he threw for career-highs in yards (3,011), touchdowns (23), completion percentage (63.6) and passer rating (87.8). He also helped push the Panthers to their first NFC South title since 2015.
Carolina, as expected, picked up the fifth-year option on Young's rookie deal earlier this offseason. He's slated to be under contract through 2027.
