As the Washington Huskies remain hot on the recruiting trail in the 2027 cycle, the only true outstanding need in Jedd Fisch's class is along the offensive line, and position coach Michael Switzer has put himself in a strong position to land several of his top targets.
Among those top targets is three-star offensive tackle Tye Kennedy out of Mountain View High School in Arizona. Recently, the 6-foot-6, 275-pounder, who is ranked as the nation's No. 612 overall recruit and No. 53 offensive tackle by the 247Sports Composite, included the Huskies in his top six alongside Arizona State, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and Utah.
He's already completed official visits to Stanford and Utah, with a trip to Michigan on deck for June 12 before he rounds things out with a June 19 visit to Montlake ahead of his July 1 commitment date. And for reasons that go far beyond his last name, as the son of program legend Lincoln Kennedy, he looks like a great fit for UW.
Even after an injury shortened his junior season to just four games, Kennedy still saw his stock rise in a major way, thanks to his promising frame and upside as an athlete. While that might not make him an instant impact prospect up front like the Huskies have brought in across the 2025 and 2026 classes, his ceiling is exactly what Switzer is looking for at the position, where Washington no longer needs someone to come in and compete for a starting job right away.
If five-star freshman Kodi Greene lives up to expectations this fall, while left guard John Mills is projected to kick out to a tackle spot and potentially compete with Sam Houston State transfer Kolt Dieterich, Kennedy would have an opportunity to develop, add weight to his frame, and truly get comfortable at the college level before competing for a spot on the depth chart.
The Huskies hold one offensive line commit in the 2027 class to this point in four-star center Reis Russell, and will be hosting him, Kennedy, and four other prospects at the position: four-stars Gecova Doyal, Lincoln Mageo, and DaJohn Yarborough, and three-star Tristan Dare, for their official visits over the June 19 weekend.
