After an impressive run through the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League, Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is returning to the Bay Area with some new hardware. Along with winning the Summer League championship and being named Most Valuable Player of the final game, Lendeborg earned another prestigious award in the desert.
On Tuesday, the league dished out awards for the 2026 edition of the Summer League, naming Lendeborg the MVP of the Summer. The league has been naming an MVP of the Summer League since 2006, making Lendeborg the first player in Warriors franchise history to win the Summer League MVP award.

Including the playoffs and championship game, Lendeborg averaged 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and four assists in six games in the Summer League.
Utah's Kyle Filipowski won the award last year in his second season in the Summer League. Other notable players to win the award since 2006 include Josh Hart, Lonzo Ball, Damian Lillard, John Wall and Blake Griffin.
Another accolade for Lendeborg from this summer includes being named to the 2026 Summer League First Team. The Summer League first team was rounded out by Memphis' forward Cameron Booxer, Milwaukee's Brayden Burries, Cleveland's Meleek Thomas and Chicago's Caleb Wilson.
