One thing that's quickly become apparent for Golden State Warriors rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg is that he has no problem sharing what's on his mind. Lendeborg was one of the primary talking points throughout the 2026 NBA Summer League, mostly for his on-court performance, and that was the case again during the championship game on Sunday night.
Lendeborg, the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, went toe-to-toe with the Memphis Grizzlies and No. 3 selection, former Duke Blue Devils star Cameron Boozer. The former Michigan Wolverine led his team to a 94-90 victory and earned Las Vegas Summer League Championship Game MVP honors after tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

The Warriors' victory came complete with a 10-point fourth-quarter comeback, a deficit that was further into double figures during the third quarter. Following the win, Lendeborg was asked about the double-digit comeback in the Summer League title game, and gave an answer that sparked a few double-takes, as ESPN's Ben Golliver revealed.
"Man, their butts got tight," Lendeborg said of the Grizzlies. "They puckered up, you know what I mean? Some of us are built for the moment and some aren't."
It's safe to assume the question about the comeback wasn't expected to lead to a response quite this blunt from Lendeborg. However, as previously mentioned, Lendeborg seems happy to speak exactly what's on his mind, and that was the case on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old wrapped up Summer League play while appearing in six games and finishing with marks of 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals over 28.3 minutes per game.
