What the heck does that mean? As opposed to having crutches to stay upright?

By the way why does our coach have an issue with reporting what the medical staff and player are saying to him? Doctor/patient privilege?
Gannon keeps tight lipped on most issues. They are required by league rules to provide certain transparency and Gannon seems intent to not give an inch more than required.
I actually appreciate that in most cases. The only time it really suxx is in instances like this or Ojulari....and the suckage is not so much due to him.... people get antsy for updates...then some bone head starving for clicks rewards and regurgitates something JG said weeks ago...then some other bozo with reading comprehension deficits records again and starts spamming the internet...
Suddenly there's a doom and gloomy prophecy....and JG remains radio silent...
Along the way nobody wants to do the leg work to trace all the comments back to their origin....so their bullshitiness never gets verified...and JG remains silent..... and for many people silence is confirmation.

Like many i would prefer something... like maybe an "expected timeline" calendar or something...maybe just keep it on the website and update it when there are changes

glad he's going to pup - not glad but you know what i mean - we got dudes - and this is an injury you want to completely heal from - not 80% not 90% but full on healthy

It would be natural for them to over-compensate on the timeline if they felt they rushed Robinson back a bit last year.

If he goes to PUP it means four weeks without practice, and then preparing for a return. In effect, Nolen would miss close to half of the season. If they keep him on the 53-man roster, he can practice, get up to speed, and make his return sooner.

My guess is that he's on the 53, and both Hernandez and Ojulari go to the PUP.

if he's not 100 he shouldn't practice at all - the risk is too great - we got players upfront - play it safe AND make lemonade by somehow utilizing that 53 roster spot - a set back on the calf could tack on months up to a year - if the goal is to get him on the field asap he needs to stay off it for now

We know that his calf injury is of moderate severity. If so, then his time away from training camp, plus a few weeks, should be sufficient.

I'll leave it to the medical-training staff to decide, and not second-guess their decision. I doubt they'll put undue stress on him to return.

my annual complaint about the current HC and FO

they just refuse to provide anything other than generalities on injuries

I dont understand why

would it have killed them to say: "Nolan strained his calf, its typically a 4-6 week injury. We are going to treat this conservatively"

They told us he had a calf strain, which is a tear, and that his healing is progressing normally. What more do you need to know?

Calf injuries for big guys are always scary - I'd be thrilled if we got anything out of him this year but I'm getting more and more skeptical.

I have no issues with it, because they are consistent. They don't pick and choose which player injuries to talk about more than others.

On to New Orleans.

At the time of the injury, Gannon said he will miss a "significant amount of time"

so what is that? 4 weeks? 12 weeks?

there is no tactical football advantage to be gained by being purposely vague on timing.

Nearly all NFL teams give better information to their fans -- I think the Cardinals should as well.

I don’t think that’s true. Can you name an example?

Although this Sean McVay report is pretty solid:

The tactical advantage is just being consistent with how information is delivered.

Well, I have enough info to satisfy me.
