The bats, balls and bases have been thrown in the shed for safe storage, at least for the 2026 season.

Now it's time to hand out some hardware, which means it's time to pick our Player of the Year.

Here are the nominees, in alphabetical order:

  • Ashton Ansel, West M — Team-high .417 BA, 1.092 OPS in 91 ABs; 4-2, 1.64 ERA in 13 appearances. Voted POY in MVL-Small by coaches.
  • Jacobie Balo, Rosecrans — Team-best .524 BA, .583 OBP and 1.154 OPS, led team with 30 RBIs and 33 hits; 4-3, 1.22 ERA, 2 SV, 46 Ks in 46 IP.
  • Grady Dollings, West M — Hit .390 with 8 doubles, .533 OBP and team-high 35 runs; 5-1, 1.99 ERA, 54 Ks in 38 2/3 IP. Pitcher of Year in MVL-Small.
  • Ryan Lamonica, Tri-Valley — .304 BA, 14 SBs, team-highs of 4 HR, 12 XBH and 31 runs.
  • Connor Roshon, Sheridan — Hit .317 with .457 OBP, 35 runs and 35 RBIs; 58Ks in 40 1/3 IP, Pitcher of the Year in MVL-Big.
  • Garrett Tom, Philo — Led team with .367 BA, .528 OBP, 1.072 OPS, 34 runs and 11 XBH (9 doubles).
  • Noah Wamer, Sheridan — 6-2 with 2.90 ERA and 41 Ks in team-high 41 IP; Hit .457 and led MVL regulars with .629 OBP. Player of the Year in MVL-Big.
