The calendar is heading toward June and high school graduations have concluded for the 2025-26 school year.

Per usual, it was another fine year for softball teams that made pushes deep into the postseason.

Now it's time for you to pick our Player of the Year. Polls close at midnight on June 26; voters are permitted one per day.

Here are the nominees, in alphabetical order.

  • Addison Babcock, John Glenn — Her .433 BA, .784 SLG, 1.256 OPS, 4 triples, 20 XBH and 26 RBIs led team; also hit 5 HRs and had .976 fielding percentage.
  • Avery Hall, Sheridan — Hit .420 with 7 HRs and 22 RBIs with 22 SBs as a sophomore catcher. Unanimous first-team All-MVL and Southeast District.
  • Megan Ranck, Sheridan — Hit .467 with 6 HR and 30 RBIs; 17-6, 1.85 ERA, 137 Ks in 146 IP. Division III Southeast District and MVL-Big School Player of the Year.
  • Alivia Reffit, Tri-Valley — Team-best .436 BA, .668 SLG and 34 hits with .489 OBP and 21 RBIs for D-III district champion. Team-best 61 assists as SS.
  • Calie Smith, West M — Led team with .468 BA, 44 hits, 17 doubles, 33 RBIs and .862 SLG. Also hit 6 HRs and had .918 fielding percentage.
  • Kendall Snider, John Glenn — MVL-Big School Pitcher of the Year was 18-4 with 0.58 ERA and 334 Ks in 156 IP while allowing .112 opponents batting average; Led team with 7 HRs — one every 8 at-bats — and hit .407.
