It's time to vote for The Tuscaloosa News Girls Athlete of the Week from Feb. 21-27.
Last round's winner was West Blocton softball's Lily Hagood, who won 75.62% of the vote (2,633) for going 3-for-3 at the plate in a game against Pell City that ended in a 5-5 tie.
Nominees for Athlete of the Week come from our top performers list the week before. Any sport in the Tuscaloosa area can nominate for the top performers list and, in turn, our Athlete of the Week. Coaches and team stat keepers can send in stats to nominate players to [email protected] by 10:30 p.m. the night of their game.
Here are our nominees for our Girls Athlete of the Week. Voting will last until noon Thursday, March 5.

Tuscaloosa News Girls Athlete of the Week nominees
- Brookwood softball's Layla Steele struck out 11 batters as the starter in a 4-2 win against American Christian Academy. She allowed four hits, two runs and two walks in seven innings pitched.
- Holy Spirit girls soccer's Alessandra Innis-Kopelson scored three goals in a 10-0 win against Paul W. Bryant.
- Northridge softball's Anna Reed hit 2-for-3, scored three runs, had three RBIs, a triple and four stolen bases.
- Northside girls soccer's Evelyn Miranda scored two goals in a 4-0 win against Sipsey Valley.
- Tuscaloosa County softball's Kensley Spann's turns at the plate included 5-for-5 hitting, with four RBIs and four runs scored in a 16-5 win against Sipsey Valley. Her runs and hits included a home run and a double.
