It's time to vote for The Tuscaloosa News Boys Athlete of the Week from Feb. 21-27.

Last round's winner was Sipsey Valley boys basketball's Cornelius Brown, who won 83.31% of the vote (10,677) for scoring 24 points in a 66-28 win against Moody in the AHSAA Class 5A Sweet 16.

Nominees for Athlete of the Week come from our top performers list the week before. Any sport in the Tuscaloosa area can nominate for the top performers list and, in turn, our Athlete of the Week. Coaches and team stat keepers can send in stats to nominate players to [email protected] by 10:30 p.m. the night of their game.

Here are our nominees for our Boys Athlete of the Week. Voting will last until noon Thursday, March 5.

TOP PERFORMERS: Northside's Lynn Otero leads Tuscaloosa top performers with six goals

Tuscaloosa News Boys Athlete of the Week nominees

Brookwood's Eric Hernandez scored two goals in a 5-1 win against Holt.
Brookwood's Alejandro Valle also scored two goals in the win over Holt.
Lamar County's Dawson Brock hit a two-RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning and hit 2-for-3 in the 3-1 win against Phil Campbell.
Northside's Lynn Otero scored six goals in a 10-0 win against Sipsey Valley. He also made one assist.
Sipsey Valley's Colin Warren scored 20 points in a 48-44 loss to Wenonah in the Northeast Regional championship game.
Tuscaloosa County's Ford Traweek scored a game-high of 27 points in a 54-47 win over Thompson to clinch the AHSAA Northwest Regional Championship. The senior guard secured the Northwest Regional Class 7A MVP title and was named to the all-tournament team.
