The end of the spring high school sports regular season is nearly upon us in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, several local softball and lacrosse players, as well as a coach, reached career milestones while Bristol-Plymouth track and field took home three individual state vocational titles between two athletes at the MVADA Championship. All five area softball teams went undefeated on the week, with Bridgewater-Raynham securing the inaugural Pioneer Athletic Conference title, and continued to look strong heading into their respective tournaments while Dighton-Rehoboth lacrosse recorded its first shutout win in program history and Dighton-Rehoboth track and field had a top five finisher at the MSTCA Shore Invitational.

The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Girls Athlete of the Week for May 4-10 is Bristol-Plymouth lacrosse's Emma Ericson, receiving 78% of the vote. Bristol Aggie softball's Shelby Benoit came in second with 13% while Bridgewater-Raynham softball's Avery Erlichman received 8% to finish third.

Who is the Taunton Daily Gazette High School Girls Athlete of the Week for May 11-17?

Softball​

Tori Corrao, Taunton​


Corrao went 3-for-5 with a triple, 3 runs and 3 RBIs against Franklin.

Carley McEwan, Bridgewater-Raynham​


McEwan went all 5 shutout innings giving up 4 hits and a walk while striking out 8 and going 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBIs at the plate against Barnstable.

Molly LaBrie, Bristol Aggie​


LaBrie went 6-for-6 with a home run, 3 runs and 3 RBIs against Norfolk Aggie.

Gabrianna Arrighi, Bristol-Plymouth​


Arrighi went all 7 innings giving up a run on 6 hits and a walk while striking out 18, including the 500th strikeout of her career, and going 2-for-4 at the plate against Diman.

Cam Cloonan, Dighton-Rehoboth​


Cloonan went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, 3 runs and 3 RBIs against Apponequet.

Lacrosse​

Gia Papa, Dighton-Rehoboth​


Papa had 4 goals and 4 assists, including her 100th career goal and 100th career assist, against Greater New Bedford.

Track and Field​

Kayla Tejan-Siesay, Bridgewater-Raynham​


Tejan-Siesay was crowned champion in both the 100 meter hurdles (0:18.34, personal best) and 400 meter hurdles (1:15.49) at the PAC-3 Championship.

Mary MacDonald, Bristol-Plymouth​


MacDonald was crowned champion in both the 400 meter wheelchair (1:39.15, personal best) and 800 meter wheelchair (3:12.11, personal best) at the MVADA Championship.
