The winner of last week’s Softball Player of the Week poll was Bishop Stang’s Mariaelena Thomas. She had more than 4,000 votes (45%) to receive the honor.

In a win over Arlington Catholic, Thomas went 3-for-5 with a single, double, triple, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Previous winners were Bishop Stang’s Olivia Megna, Dartmouth’s Addy Thomas, GNB Voc-Tech’s Leah Perez and Khloe Pereira, New Bedford’s Brylee DeDeus and Old Colony’s Abby Norton.

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances.

Here’s your chance to vote for the top high school softball performance from the past week.

Abby Burnap, Apponequet​


Burnap went a combined 3-for-5 with 3 walks, a home run, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored in two games.

Gabby DelVecchio, Apponequet​


In two games, DelVecchio was a combined 3-for-7 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

Reese Taylor, Apponequet​


Taylor pitched a pair of complete-game shutouts over Middleboro and Fairhaven, allowing a combined 4 hits and 5 walks with 27 strikeouts.

Sophia Brousseau, Bishop Stang​


In a pair of wins over Old Rochester and Barnstable, Brousseau went a combined 5-for-7 with a walk and 3 RBIs.

Sophia Morales, Bishop Stang​


Morales went a combined 7-for-11 with 2 walks, a triple, an RBI and 6 runs scored in three games.

Ava Teixeira, Bishop Stang​


Teixeira was a combined 6-for-8 with 2 doubles, a home run, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a pair of wins over Old Rochester. Against Bishop Fenwick, she was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Mariaelena Thomas, Bishop Stang​


Thomas went a combined 8-for-12 with 12 RBIs in three wins for Stang.

Abby Lancaster, Dartmouth​


In a win over Durfee, Lancaster drove in 4 runs on 2 hits, including a home run.

Kasey Pomfret, Dartmouth​


In a win over Barnstable, Pomfret went 2-for-3 with a walk, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. She also picked up the win on the mound, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and no walks with 7 strikeouts over 4 innings. She also had 5 strikeouts in a win over Durfee.

Emma Silva, Dartmouth​


Silva was 3-for-3 in a loss to New Bedford.

Emma Machado, GNB Voc-Tech​


In a win over Seekonk, Machado went 2-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Khloe Pereira, GNB Voc-Tech​


In three games, Pereira had a combined 6 hits, including a grand slam and home run. She also had 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

Ryleigh Reis, GNB Voc-Tech​


Reis picked up the win in the State Vocational Large School Semifinals over Diman, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks with 8 strikeouts over 7 innings.

Akiira’Ley Vazquez, GNB Voc-Tech​


Vazquez had a combined 14 strikeouts in a pair of games against Diman and Seekonk. She also went 2-for-4 with a home run and RBI against B-R and was 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored against Seekonk.

Gianna Almeida, New Bedford​


In a pair of games against Somerset Berkley and Falmouth, Almeida had a combined 6 hits.

Ivy Mattos, New Bedford​


Mattos scored the lone run in New Bedford’s 1-0 win over Bridgewater-Raynham. She also had a combined 6 hits in the Whalers’ other three games.

Maura McEvoy, New Bedford​


McEvoy pitched a 7-inning shutout, allowing 8 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout over Bridgewater-Raynham. McEvoy drove in the winning run on a sacrifice fly. She also pitched a 2-hitter with 8 strikeouts against Falmouth.

Madison Caton, Old Colony​


Caton had a combined 6 hits, including a home run, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored in three games.

Sharon Delancey, Old Colony​


In a win over Upper Cape, Delancey pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits with 10 strikeouts. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a walk and 3 RBIs.

Lindsay Sumner, Old Colony​


In three games, Sumner went a combined 7-for-11 with 3 walks, 7 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Claudia Surace, Old Rochester​


In a win over Bourne, Surace went 2-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBIs while striking out 12 on the mound.

Jolee Anderson, Wareham​


In a win over Holbrook, Anderson was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and had 16 strikeouts on the mound.

Olivia LaCava, Wareham​


LaCava was 3-for-4 with an RBI against Holbrook.
