Read about the performances that stood out and let us know who you think should be the Athlete of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.
Nominations were provided by coaches and are presented in alphabetical order. Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Hackettstown sophomore midfielder
In the Tigers' victories against Kittatinny and Pompton Lakes, Cooper had three goals, two assists, two ground balls, a caused turnover, and 12 draw controls, giving her 100 this spring.

Morristown senior sprinter/jumper
Ewing brought home a trio of gold medals from the Morris County Championships, scoring 30 of third-place Morristown's 51 points. She became the first girl in Morris County history to go under 14 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles (13.98). Ewing was also first in 200 (25.04) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.79) by 16 hundredths of a second.

Reid scored all of Parsippany's 30 points at the Morris County Championships. She tied school records in the long jump (19-2½) and 100-meter hurdles (14.23) while finishing second. Reid was also second in the 400 hurdles (1:03.95) and third in the 200 meters (25.43).
Morris Hills senior jumper/hurdler
Shih scored 26 points as Morris Hills defended its team title at the Morris County Championships. Shih won the intermediate hurdles (57.06) and high jump (6-foot-7), placed fourth in the long jump, and fifth in the high hurdles.

Chatham senior distance runner
Valenzuela had a distance double at the Morris County Championships. He won the 1,600 in 4:20.86 on Tuesday. Two days later, Valenzuela broke the meet record with his 9:02.22 in the 3,200. The old mark (9:06.37) was set in 2011 by Delbarton's Morgan Pearson, who went on to win Olympic medals in triathlon.
