The Coloradoan is again proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes in the 2025-26 school year.
There are five nominees every week, and fans can vote every Monday through Thursday at coloradoan.com/sports.
This is the 29th week of the 2025-26 sports season, and they're coming down the home stretch with about a month left for most spring sports.
You can find the nominees and the ballot below. Voting is open this week until 11:59 a.m. on April 16, with the winner announced later that same day.
Fans can nominate their favorite athletes (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday) and the Coloradoan sports staff will ultimately select the nominees each week.
If you have nominations for a future Athlete of the Week, please send them via email to [email protected] for consideration.

Meet the Blue FCU Boys Athlete of the Week nominees
The following Fort Collins-area boys athletes are nominated for their performances April 6-11:
- Liam Delgado, Windsor baseball: The Wizards junior had a huge week at the plate in a pair of wins. Delgado went 6-for-7 with two homers, five runs scored and seven RBIs to help blow out Loveland and George Washington and keep Windsor inside the Class 4A top 10.
- Bode Klein, Fossil Ridge track and field: Klein was a big winner at the annual Randy Yaussi PSD City championship meet. The SaberCat senior swept to victories in the 800 and 1,600 meter runs while also helping Fossil to a 4x800 relay victory and an overall team runner-up finish
- Brayton Meglen, Wellington track and field: Speaking of sweeps at the Yaussi, Meglen was another standout on the track in the city championships. The Eagles sophomore soared to 100- and 200-meter titles in the event before also helping Wellington to a pair of runner-up relay finishes at the Thomas Jefferson Twilight.
- Cadel Ruthven, Fort Collins track and field: The Lambkins senior showed his ability on the big stage last week. Ruthven won the one-mile run at the nationally-prestigious Arcadia Invitational in California, taking the title in 4 minutes, 7.98 seconds, good for a new personal-record time and the fourth-best time in the country this season.
- Dane Wyman, Timnath baseball: The Cubs senior was key in a big win over 4A Severance, tossing a complete game with just one run allowed and nine strikeouts in the 2-1 victory. Wyman also helped out at the plate, compiling three hits with an RBI in a 2-0 week for Timnath.
