With the dust of the 2024 hockey season settled, it is time to choose the standout player of the year for Central Wisconsin.
Throughout the 2024 season, notable performances were completed in all areas of the ice, with some talent building upon the success of previous seasons and others emerging as major players for the future of their programs.
Almond-Bancroft softball bounces back: Almond-Bancroft softball looks to ride wave of momentum into Goodman Diamond
The poll is open until noon on April 31.
Jackson Schroeder, Stevens Point: Schroeder’s season is highlighted by a four-goal performance against the University School of Milwaukee on Jan. 18. This season, Schroeder also notched a six-assist performance in a win over Wausau East-Merrill on Dec. 5. So far, Schroeder has accumulated 23 goals and 38 assists for SPASH.
Tyler Baars, Mosinee: Baars junior season on the ice watched him grow into a reliable scorer in both the regular season and postseason. This year, he helped push Mosinee into a deep run before falling to the eventual champions in Tomahawk, but Baars completed a season that could rival any in the area. Baars finished contributing 30 goals and 30 assists.
Elliott Yirkovski, Mosinee: In tandem with Baars, Yirkovski exploded as another huge scoring threat for the Indians in 2024 finding the net in each of Mosinee’s playoff game. Thus far, he has been one of Mosinee's most productive players, holding 27 goals and 29 assists.
Jonah Dickens, Tomahawk: Dickens led the way for the Tomahawks all season long, who stood tall at the conclusion of the season after knocking off Amery in the state championship game. He finished as one of the most productive scoring options in the area, producing a handful of multi-score performances. This season, Dickens finished with 45 goals and 19 assists.
Griffin Bunnell, D.C. Everest: Bunnell was simply one of the most stout defenders in the state for the Evergreens at goalkeeper. One of his defining performances came in a game at the end of the season against SPASH where he notched 62 saves. He finished with 609 saves on 649 shots on goal.

Marek Kijonka, Mosinee: Kijonka was like a point guard for Mosinee’s hockey club as one of the area's most balanced players. A glaring light was shined on his ability to facilitate against Antigo on Dec. 20, where reached seven assists. This year, he has contributed 17 goals and 31 assists for Mosinee.
Jett Reilly, Tomahawk: Reilly emerged as one of the area's most balanced offensive players as a steady threat around the goal. Additionally, he finished as one of the top facilitators in the state. Reilly finished with 32 goals and 46 assists.
Grant Molski, Stevens Point: Molski became one of the most thorough players in the area in 2024 for SPASH. He finished near the top of the state in goals, with an explosive performance coming in a six-goal outing against Wausau East-Merrill on Dec. 5. So far this season, Molski finished with 37 goals and 21 assists.
