No. 21 Tennessee (18-7, 3-3 SEC) defeated USC Upstate (12-14, 3-3 Big South), 4-2, Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Vols defeated the Spartans with a walk-off home run from Blake Grimmer.

USC Upstate led, 1-0 after the first inning and maintained its advantage until the seventh inning when Blaine Brown had a two-run single, giving the Vols a, 2-1, lead.

The Spartans tied the game, 2-2, in the ninth inning ahead of Grimmer's game-winning home run.

Grimmer went 2-for-5 and scored one run and recorded two RBIs, while Brown went 2-for-4. He hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to give the Vols, a 2-1, lead.

Brayden Krenzel (1-1) earned a win for Tennessee. He pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief. Krenzel recorded one strikeout, while totaling five pitches, including four strikes.

Taylor Tracey started for the Vols. He pitched 0.2 innings and allowed one run and three walks. Tracey totaled 30 pitches, including 14 strikes.

Brady Frederick pitched 2.1 innings, allowing one hit and one walk. He recorded four strikeouts. Frederick totaled 39 pitches, including 24 strikes, while Nic Abraham pitched 3.1 innings, allowing three hits. He recorded three strikeouts. Abraham totaled 39 pitches, in including 39 pitches, including 27 strikes.

Bo Rhudy pitched 2.0 innings, allowing one run, two hits and one walk. He recorded two strikeouts, while totaling 38 pitches, including 26 strikes.
