For their first portal acquisition of the offseason, the Deacs are going big, filling the obvious hole at center that they had this season. Dorn is a 7-0, 230 pound center from Hamburg, Germany who averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9 minutes per game for the Hokies. The numbers may not jump off the stat sheet, but Wake will once again have a 7-footer down low who should be able to defend the rim and rebound—two things the Deacs did not do at all this year.

Dorn has a ton of potential, and with more minutes he should be able to have a lot more production next season. Coincidentally, he had his best game of the season against Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament, finishing with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. He finished the season shooting 64% from the field, however, he only took 42 total shots during the season, all 2-pointers. Based on his highlights below, he knows how to use his size and has great touch around the basket for a big guy. He also appears to be very mobile for a center. At the very least, the Deacs will once against have a 7-footer in the paint, and that is great news.
