The Minnesota Vikings were severely lacking in 2025, thanks in large part to the play from the quarterback position. There was no bigger player affected by this than wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Jefferson posted career lows in receiving yards (1,048) and touchdowns (2). While many believe he should see a complete 180 in 2026 with Kyler Murray at quarterback, where does he rank among offensive playmakers?
According to Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports, who recently ranked the 100 most important players for 2026, Jefferson is the 12th-most important offensive playmaker in the league and somehow the 68th-most important player in the NFL. Here was his rationale:
Jefferson will have high expectations for himself coming off such a down year. Vikings fans know what he is capable of, as do opposing defenses, and if he bounces back, the off-year will be forgotten.

Speaking of frustrating years, Jefferson posted career lows in receiving yards (1,048) and receiving touchdowns (two) while enduring some of the worst quarterback play in the NFL. Expect a major rebound with Kyler Murray now in Minnesota. How quickly we forget: Jefferson is not only a great wide receiver, but a historically great one: His 8,480 receiving yards are the most ever by a player through his first six seasons.
