The Minnesota Vikings probably don't have many regrets with 2025 first-round pick Donovan Jackson. As a rookie, Jackson started 14 games despite a wrist injury sustained early in the season, which he played through. He only allowed two sacks, generating a 65.7 pass-block grade from PFF.

But would the Vikings make the same decision if they had a chance to pick again? Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report doesn't think so, having Minnesota land Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin, Jr. at pick 24.

Fannin was a third-round steal by the Browns last year, making the leap from the MAC to the NFL with ease—he led the Browns in every major statistical receiving category last year, and his six touchdown grabs would have led the Vikings in 2025.

Forget T.J. Hockenson, who clearly isn't the player he once was. Add Fannin to a passing attack that already includes Jauan Jennings, Jordan Addison and some guy named Justin Jefferson, and opposing defenses are going to have a problem.

The swap makes sense, as the Vikings could be in the market for a tight end in 2027. Hockenson hasn't been the same since his catastrophic ACL injury in December 2023.

However, Minnesota's offensive line was a disaster in 2025 due to numerous injuries. Jackson did still miss three games, but could he have been more effective with more stability around him at both left tackle and center, where Christian Darrisaw and Ryan Kelly missed 16 combined games?

Still, Davenport doesn't see Jackson as a wasted first-round pick. He has Jackson getting drafted 32nd overall by the Eagles in his re-draft. As far as Kwesi Adofo-Mensah draft picks go, Jackson falls in the rare "win" bin.
