The NBA Finals media day can be considered the calm before the storm. It gave media members the opportunity to interview and interact with players, including Victor Wembanyama, ahead of the championship series.

Jimmy Kimmel’s parking lot security guard and sidekick, Guillermo, has been a staple of the annual event. His hilarious interview questions have been a must-see, bringing laughs to fans watching his clips. He was in attendance again this year and shared moments with the finalists on Tuesday.

The NBA posted a video on X showing Guillermo asking Wembanyama to rub his belly. The San Antonio Spurs superstar center wore his cowboy hat before agreeing to the “good luck gesture.”

This year’s media day was held at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. The Spurs finished the regular season with a better record than the New York Knicks and will have home advantage. They will host Games 1, 2, 5 and 7.

Victor Wembanyama could win first championship at 22 years old​


Wembanyama is only in his third season and already has a chance to win a title despite only being 22 years old. He has been the catalyst for the Spurs in their road to the Finals, including their Game 7 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Expectations were high when the 7-foot-4 center entered the NBA, but he has more than lived up to them. Wembanyama is also showing the rest of the league that he will be a problem for years to come. The road to a championship is always tough, but stars now know that they’ll need to get past him if they want to sit on the throne.
